SCL to host Trivia Night tomorrow
Have you ever wanted to rake in $150 in one hour — legally? Then Trivia Night is the event for you. Trivia Night — hosted by Student Community Leaders (SCL) tomorrow night — is open to teams affiliated with any team sport, club or class. The winning team will receive $150 and a spot in the coveted Trivia Hall of Fame. In addition, Los Altos High School’s Culinary class is catering concessions so the audience can enjoy a snack during intermission.
“Last year, the Competitive Trivia Club won, but this year I think it’s anyone’s game,” SCL advisor Sarah Alvarado said.
Teams of three (with a maximum of one staff member, and an optional fourth substitute) will compete in three rounds, with a sudden death round if there are ties for first, second or third place in the final round. The first round consists of 20 questions, and the second round has 12 questions. In each round, the top half of the competition will move on. In the final round there are five questions, and the team that scores the most points will win the title. Trivia topics range from science and sports to pop culture and random facts.
“Trivia Night started back up last year, and it’s a long-standing cherished tradition at LAHS,” Trivia Night Coordinator and junior Asha Parker said.
To sign up and compete for the $150 prize, fill out the Google form online before Friday. Spectators are welcome, so bring your friends to watch some fierce trivia competition.
