The school held a surprise fire drill at 8:55 a.m. today. The drill, which was set by Santa Clara County, took place during first period and lasted approximately 20 minutes.
Students and staff were uninformed.
“It was really frustrating because we were in the middle of a [Physics Honors] test,” junior Aditi Jain said. “It didn’t feel right because people were discussing answers while we were out on the field.”
The school made an announcement after the drill and modified the schedule. Second period started at 9:30 a.m. and lasted 55 minutes. All subsequent periods were shortened to 45 minutes.
