The school’s Performing Arts Department went to see the musical “Wicked” Wednesday, March 18, at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theater. Performing arts students departed for San Francisco after 2nd period and arrived in San Francisco for lunch at Union Square.
The show began around 1 p.m. and had positive reviews.
“It was an excellent performance, and I thoroughly enjoyed Elphaba’s singing,” freshman Chelsea Parker said. “I wish there was more acting instead of going from song to song.”
One downside may have been the overuse of the mechanical, special effects of the play.
“I thought it had a very good wow factor but there wasn’t as much substance to it,” junior Zach Garcia said. “Without special effects and fancy stuff the show would be nothing.”
Students arrived back at the school around 6 p.m.
