The school’s marching band held its annual band camp from Friday, September 9 to Sunday, September 12.
Held at Camp Kennolyn in the Santa Cruz Mountains, band camp offered marching band members not only time to bond with each other, but also practice drills, techniques, formations and dances.
“We basically gave it our entire weekend and it really paid off,” sophomore Kelcey Negus said.
Although Camp Kennolyn’s field was too small for the marching band to form new drills and routines, it gave band members a chance to revive their skills and practice basic routines, formations and techniques.
“Instead of marching for nearly 16 hours total like last year, we played way more music to make up for that, and we improved a lot on the movements we practiced,” sophomore Willem Van Eck said.
Band members also participated in the traditional ritual of skits during Game Night.
