As the school year comes to an end, the Indian Student Association (ISA) finished off their year by revealing their officers for the upcoming 2024-25 school year on Tuesday, May 28.
Ayana Modi and Ziana Merchant will be ISA co-presidents.
Dhruv Aron will be the ISA vice president.
Tanvi Muppalaneni will be the ISA secretary.
Aarushi Shukla will be the ISA treasurer.
Arathi Naga will be the ISA publicity manager.
Shakti-Ann Kanyal will be the ISA event planner.
Both Ayana and Ziana have been in ISA since freshman year, inspiring them to run for co-presidents.
“My brother was the founder of ISA when he was a senior,” Ziana said. “Since freshman year, I’ve wanted to carry that on by becoming president my senior year – it’s a full-circle moment.”
“I’ve truly appreciated all the presidents’ efforts towards fostering a thriving South Asian community at school,” Ayana said. “They’ve inspired me to contribute in the same manner and to be a role model for club members and future board members.”
The two hope to expand ISA’s reach to connect South Asian students across the school.
“Not everyone feels welcome to join the club or embrace their culture,” Ziana said. “Next year, I want to host more events and opportunities for people to bond and connect.”
