Freestyle Academy will be hosting its Mid-Year Exhibition from 6 to 9 p.m at the Computer History Museum on Thursday, February 3. The exhibition will showcase artwork, films, animations and websites created by Juniors and Seniors from the Narrative Unit. Highlights of the night include: Junior Narrative Films, Diptychs and Illustrations and Senior Surrealism Art.
In addition to showcasing art pieces, Freestyle will also be selling artwork for $10 a piece. Proceeds will be donated to Water for People: Play Pumps, a charity aimed to bring safe drinking water to children in Africa. The featuring charity was voted on by Freestyle students.
“Right now, we are all excited but it’s more of a stressful time until the exhibition actually starts,”said event coordinator and Mountain View senior Danielle Lorberbaum. “Students are working hard to finish their projects and get all the artwork mounted, ready and organized.”
The “Art Exhibition and Website Viewing” will take place from 6 to 9 p.m, the “Best of Junior Narrative Films” from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m and the “Best of Senior Music Videos, Narrative Films and Animation” from 8 to 9 p.m.
“I’m excited to have people look at my art and all the hard work I’ve done,” junior Devan Shah said.
Admission is free and food and drinks will be provided until 8:30 p.m.
