Administrative members, several students and parents advocated for a crosswalk and crossing guard on Almond Avenue yesterday, September 13 at the Los Altos City Council meeting.
Ten different individuals stood up before the City Council and presented reasons for a crossing guard on Almond Avenue. They are still discussing how to create a raised crosswalk with flashing lights on the street.
“We’re absolutely elated about how quickly the city council worked,” Assistant Principal Cristy Dawson said. “We felt that it was imperative for the safety of our kids that they took action quickly and they did.”
