The cheer team has been selling pink wristbands since Monday, October 15, and will continue to sell them tomorrow, October 19, and next week to fundraise for breast cancer research and awareness. The wristbands have words like “hope”, “faith” and “survivor” engraved on them and cost $1 each.
“Our coach was the one who heard of the idea,” Co-captain senior Morgan Jaffe said. “We decided to help support this because first, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and because our coach’s mom, as well as my mom, had it in the past and survived.”
The team members have been wearing pink bows in their hair every day this week and will do so again tomorrow at school and at the football game against Gunn High School.
