This Friday, November 8, a quick trip to the Los Altos high small gym could save the lives of three people.
The Yeah! Club at the high school is organizing a blood drive this Friday. Stanford Blood Bank staff will setup in the gym, draw the blood of volunteers and deal with donations.
The Yeah! Club has advertised for this event by announcing it on the loudspeakers, creating a Facebook page, posting a signup sheet in the library and marching in the homecoming parade. The club has approximately 80 volunteers at this time and hopes to reach 100 by Friday.
“This blood donated goes toward the Stanford Blood Center where they use it for patients in need of blood or for research,” senior Jared Eng said.
Those who signed up will miss about one class period this Friday but will, in return, receive refreshments and a gift card for a free Chipotle burrito.
