Volleyball Hammers Win Out Of Los Gatos

On Saturday November 16, the varsity girls volleyball team hammered out a victory against Los Gatos High School in the Eagles first CCS match.

After ending their season in second place, the team earned a bye in the first round of CCS that took place last Wednesday, November 13.

“We went into the game feeling pretty comfortable because we played Los Gatos twice this year and we beat them pretty handily both times,” co-captain senior Katie Tritschler said. “We went in confident and and we knew who to look out for on their offense.”

That comfortability was shown after the Eagles defeated Los Gatos in the first game 25-12. In the second game however, the Eagles faltered, resulting in a loss of 23-25. In the third game, the Eagles collected themselves, acquiring another victory with 25-20 and that trend continued into the fourth game with 25-21.

“[For] the fourth game we had to get it done because we didn’t want to push it to five,” Katie said.

The Eagles have their semifinal game this Wednesday, November 20, against Saint Francis High School. If the Eagles beat Saint Francis on Wednesday they will advance to CCS finals and regardless of a win or loss, they will advance to State Finals.
