After a successful season with only two losses, the varsity lacrosse team faced the Menlo School in the CCS playoffs yesterday, May 6, losing 4-15. Although the team did not advance, it claimed the league title for the second year in a row.
“We weren’t expecting to win,” Co-captain senior Daniel Kahan said. ”We made it to playoffs though, so we’re definitely happy.”
The team lost eight seniors this year, leaving behind a team largely composed of sophomores. The team also faced the challenge of losing Daniel and senior Andrew Thomas to injuries that left them incapable of playing this season.
“We lost all three of our preseason games,” Daniel said. “But we got on roll and our team has a lot of fast, athletic guys that made us really strong.”
The team’s cohesiveness contributed greatly to its success this season. Although the Eagles did not perform as well as they did in the previous season, where they were undefeated, they maintained their determination for dominance and grew together.
