Lynbrook came out strong against Los Altos Tuesday, December 3, but their early rally fell short as the Eagles came back to win the game 3-1. The Eagles tied the game near halftime as a result of a header goal by junior Matthew Sucharczuk.
“They came out strong but we really just stuck with it all game,” junior captain Matthew Schonher said. “There was never a time where we slowed down or stopped playing hard.”
Matthew scored the game winning goal in the last 10 minutes of the game on a penalty kick.
The Eagles have only four returning starters to this years lineup, so they have turned to team chemistry to compensate for the youth of the team.
“Last year we were a very skilled team and this year I feel like we have a better attitude coming in…we aren’t playing as individuals,” Matthew said.
The Eagles play Pajaro Valley High School at Homestead on Saturday, December 7, at 11:30 am.
