For the past few weeks, the cross country team has been running under a different coach. After last year’s cross country coach Dan Oren’s announced his resignation in the middle of the summer, the team has been practicing with Pam Fielding Harris, former cross country’s assistant coach.
Harris now works with several other coaches, two of them being Charles Castleman and Andrew Zaeske, a mathematics teacher that teaches Calculus AB and a parent of one of the runners, respectively.
The cross country team has traditionally done well in Leagues and CCS. In past years, the team has sent runners to the CCS and the CIF State Championships. With a full year ahead for the team, Harris already has her sights set on the CCS championship.
“Our goal is for both [girls and boys] teams to place [third] at CCS so then they will qualify for states,” Harris said.
