Earlier this week, NBC Bay Area featured history teacher Robert Freeman and his organization One Dollar for Life (ODFL).
“ODFL came to the attention of NBC Bay Area Television and the Bay Area Proud segment as a result of my being named in October as “Global Citizen of the Year” by Palo Alto Kiwanis,” Freeman said. “We filmed the segment over the past two weeks, here at LAHS and at Jefferson High School in Daly City where they were finishing up their annual ODFL fundraiser.”
This feature presents ODFL with a unique opportunity for publicity on a national scale. The three minute video of the feature can be found on the NBC Bay Area website.
“The most important thing is that I hope all LAHS students will watch it and hit the Facebook ‘Recommend’ button on the top right,” Freeman said. “The way a local piece like this goes national is through local appreciation. The people in New York judge local interest through page views and Facebook ‘Recommends.’ So if everyone watches it and recommends it, LAHS might get on the national radar as a place that practices the high values of student altruism and civic activism.”
