Haiti Solidarity Club will host a benefit concert at Alta Vista High School today, October 20 at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 from any club member and $15 at the door. The three bands that will perform are Brolly, Finish Ticket and Picture Atlantic. All proceeds will be donated to SOPUDEP and FOPAD, schools in Haiti that the club supports.
“We want to gather everyone together and relax and listen to good music,” club member senior Molly Paul said. “At the same time it’s for a good cause. All the money is going to SOPUDEP and FOPAD.”
The club will spend all the money raised on supplies and other materials necessary for the two schools in Haiti.
“We hope to be able to buy supplies, so we can ship to Haiti and bring them there when we go,” club member freshman Patricia Davila said.
The Haiti Solidarity Club hopes to put on an enjoyable show and raise a good amount of money.
“There is no amount we have in mind we are trying to raise, we just want to make sure as many people as possible can come and have a good time,” Molly said.
