The girls basketball team set the bar high today, November 25, in their first scrimmage of the year against Yerba Buena.
“All the work we have been putting in over summer and in practice has finally come into play,” junior Meg Enthoven said. “We executed many plays very well and never had trouble getting back on defense. We still need to work on our entire offense, and incorporating Meghan [McDermott] into it when she comes. I hope this season we can be as successful as the last and face all challenging teams with a strong desire to win.”
This scrimmage does not contribute to any overall record nor was the score accurately kept throughout the game, but it was a good opportunity for the Lady Eagles to try out the various offensive and defensive sets they have been practicing. According to sophomore Katie Munro’s approximation, the Lady Eagles defeated Yerba Buena by about 50 points.
“We played well together and are really gelling as a team,” Katie said. “We were able to work on different defenses and identify weaknesses to work on this coming week.”
Los Altos will review game tape from the scrimmage in order to complete its final preparations before the preseason starts rolling. Preseason games begin within the coming week.
