The boys varsity basketball team played a close game against the Lynbrook Vikings on Wednesday, February 8 but lost 53-55.
“I think the team started out the game pretty well,” sophomore Johnny Chen said. “[But] I think our team needs to just end the the game strong.”
The Eagles ended the first quarter with 14-13 in their favor. The teams were closely matched throughout the game, with Lynbrook ahead by only one point at the end of the third quarter. Lynbrook solidified its lead in its fourth quarter to end the game 52-55.
“[The ability to finish strong] is something important we need to improve on to win our next two and last games of the season,” Johnny said.
Seniors Bemi Onipede and Simon Rosenbaum led the scoring with 17 and 10 points, respectively.
The Eagles will play the Santa Clara Bruins on Wednesday, February 15.
